Ford Focus ST with 270HP

15th November 2008

Having already released various sport packages for the mainstream versions of the European market Ford Focus, Bavarian tuner Loder1899 has now turned its attention to the sportiest Focus of them all (that is, until the introduction of the RS), the ST. Modifications to the sport hatch’s exterior are minimal and include a front apron, carbon fiber rear diffuser and front grille as well a set of tasty 20-inch alloys that mimic the style of the standard wheels. The light bodykit is complemented by the lower suspension and the new sport exhaust system.

As an official sponsor of the new James Bond film called ‘Quantum of Solace’, Ford gets the chance to promote its vehicles in all sorts of ways, on and off the movie set. In 007’s new adventure that opens in UK and French cinemas on October 31st, with the rest of the world following in November 2008, Ford’s new KA mini makes a cameo appearance by the side of Camille played by Olga Kurylenko.

A SEMA Show without tricked F150s is like a peanut butter sandwich with no jelly or so to say. For this year’s show that runs November 4-7Ford is going to reveal four F-150 project trucks in Las Vegas the most intriguing being the all-electric Hi-Pa Drive F-150. The four electric in-wheel motors that power the fully-electric Hi-Pa Drive F-150 will deliver more than 600HP as well as more torque than the 320HP V8 engine it replaced.

The second generation Ka will hit the Ford’s UK showrooms in January 2009 priced from £7,995, which is around $12,500 or €10,000 with today’s exchange rates. The Fiat 500-based mini is available with two engines, a 69HP 1.2-liter petrol unit and a 75HP 1.3-liter turbo diesel as well as four different trims. The entry-level “Studio” includes height-adjustable steering wheel, ABS brakes, driver and passenger front airbags and a six speakers CD radio with MP3 compatibility.

Continuing the steady flow of teasers on the new 2010 Mustang, today Ford released the 13th consecutive photo of its updated pony car that will make its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in mid-November. If the picture looks familiar your absolutely right as Ford had revealed the shift knob in teaser No11. Only difference here is that that we can see part of the revised center console that features new A/C and radio controls.

Ford has issued the first official picture of the 2010 Fusion that will be revealed along with its revised Lincoln MKZ and Mercury Milan siblings at next month’s LA Auto Show. The facelifted Fusion profits - or the opposite, we’ll leave that for you to decide, from a fully redesigned front end that features something that was designed to look like a car but ended up resembling a gigantic chrome monobrow.

A 1:64 scale die-cast version of the yet to be revealed 2010 Ford Mustang emerged on eBay this past weekend only to be removed by its Malaysian seller on Monday. While we cannot be 100 percent sure, from the looks of it, the slightly (ab)used Hot Wheels-branded toy version of the new Mustang GT appears to be a prototype model that somehow escaped from Mattel’s factory.

While everyone was either preoccupied with Obama’s election or with the countless concept cars and modded vehicles that are making their debut at this week’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Ford’s people found some time to upload yet another teaser photo of the soon-to-be fully revealed, 2010 Mustang. The 14th teaser shot gives us a more spherical view of the redesign cabin and well, that’s about it for this week.

It can’t get any worse for Ford Motor Company - or can it? The American automaker today announced a third quarter net loss of $129 million which is actually smaller than the same period a year ago when FoMoCo lost $390 million. However, the company also posted a third quarter pre-tax operating loss from continuing operations (excluding special items) of $2.7 billion, down from a $194 million profit a year ago.

Using the 2009 Mustang as a base, Roush Performance has developed its second aviation-themed pony car, the P-51B which is named after the legendary World War II fighter plane. As with the previous P-51A Mustang that was introduced at the 2007 SEMA Show, the new P-51B packs a heavily modified ROUSHcharged 4.6-liter V8 engine that puts down 510 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. Among the changes for the 2009 Mustang ‘fighter’ are a secondary sheave FEAD, the addition of the ROUSH 6-piston brakes, a ROUSH vent pod gauge and new Cooper RS3 ultra-high performance tires.
