The GT500KR’s impeccable balance of handling and performance is the result of a holistic approach to the development, looking at the total vehicle with chassis and powertrain engineers working together to optimize all vehicle attributes.

For example, a new front splitter and revised rear spoiler aid in aerodynamic improvements, adding downforce over the front axle and moving the center of aero pressure forward in the vehicle to improve high-speed balance and stable, predictable braking character. The ride height has been lowered to the optimum setting for on-the-limit handling, lowering the front by 20 mm and the rear by 15 mm.

“The KR is more responsive and has more body control,” said Gary Davis, vice president of production for Shelby Automobiles. “It delivers even more racing feel than a stock GT500. Yet it’s still extremely comfortable and doesn’t beat you up like some performance cars. We’ve been able to increase handling substantially without giving up a lot in ride comfort.

Continuing the steady flow of teasers on the new 2010 Mustang, today Ford released the 13th consecutive photo of its updated pony car that will make its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in mid-November. If the picture looks familiar your absolutely right as Ford had revealed the shift knob in teaser No11. Only difference here is that that we can see part of the revised center console that features new A/C and radio controls.

A 1:64 scale die-cast version of the yet to be revealed 2010 Ford Mustang emerged on eBay this past weekend only to be removed by its Malaysian seller on Monday. While we cannot be 100 percent sure, from the looks of it, the slightly (ab)used Hot Wheels-branded toy version of the new Mustang GT appears to be a prototype model that somehow escaped from Mattel’s factory.

While everyone was either preoccupied with Obama’s election or with the countless concept cars and modded vehicles that are making their debut at this week’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Ford’s people found some time to upload yet another teaser photo of the soon-to-be fully revealed, 2010 Mustang. The 14th teaser shot gives us a more spherical view of the redesign cabin and well, that’s about it for this week.

Using the 2009 Mustang as a base, Roush Performance has developed its second aviation-themed pony car, the P-51B which is named after the legendary World War II fighter plane. As with the previous P-51A Mustang that was introduced at the 2007 SEMA Show, the new P-51B packs a heavily modified ROUSHcharged 4.6-liter V8 engine that puts down 510 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. Among the changes for the 2009 Mustang ‘fighter’ are a secondary sheave FEAD, the addition of the ROUSH 6-piston brakes, a ROUSH vent pod gauge and new Cooper RS3 ultra-high performance tires.
